There’s no doubt it’s been a chaotic few months and for the first time ever, songwriters and producers around the world are no longer tied to busy touring schedules. As our writers slowed right down and shifted their focus on to music making, 120 decided it would be a great opportunity to curate their FIRST ever Virtual Writers Camp.
With 30 writers, across 100 sessions over two weeks, our participants worked from places including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, New York, Los Angeles, Germany, Denmark and The Netherlands. Mirroring standard face-to-face sessions, our 2020 Virtual Camp participants were assigned to groups of 2-3 and tasked to complete a song by the end of the day. The music that was formulated through the Virtual Camp, was nothing short of phenomenal and it was such an uplifting experience to see our community come together, to create and to connect across platforms like Zoom and Skype.
Songwriters and producers have been working behind closed doors for quite some time, but creating new music right now is absolutely invaluable. Who knew making music virtually could be such a time! 120 would love to thank all those who participated and we can’t wait to show you all the new creations.
